Big news for the new version of our iPhone app: access via "TouchID". Having to remember your username and password in order to log into mobile banking is a thing of the past.
To set up this option, customers must link their fingerprint to their electronic banking codes, just as they would for other apps. The way TouchID works in our app is standard. This improvement is very important, since it overcomes one of the barriers to using mobile banking: the inconvenience of entering passwords on the screen. It is also very important and significant, since few other banks are offering this advantage.
In addition, we are now offering the option of paying cheques into your account using your mobile phone camera, just as you can when paying bills. Focus the camera on the barcode and the details of the cheque are read automatically. You then log in, which takes you directly to this option on the Mobile Banking site. To help familiarise you with this service, we have incorporated help screens in a kind of carousel formation, so you can swipe the screen to scroll through a guide of how it works.
